Alabama
Alabama DOC Re-Entry And Pre-Release Program
The Pre Release and Reentry Program offers’ information to inmates about life enrichment classes, community resources and reentry services that is available throughout the State.
Alaska
Alaska Tribal Justice Resource Center
The ATJRC is a statewide training and technical assistance (TTA) center established in the fall of 2019 with funding from the Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance. The ATJRC organized was to respond to the unique, unmet and emerging training and technical assistance needs of Alaska Tribes and tribal organizations involved in developing and enhancing their respective tribal justice systems.
Arizona
Arizona Department of Economic Security
Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) and Arizona Department of Corrections (DOC) to collaborate and bring comprehensive support services to inmates nearing release who were most likely to recidivate. In March 2017, the state’s first Second Chance Center opened to provide inmates with a 10-week program designed to prepare them for reentry in our communities and workforce.
Arkansas
Arkansas Division of Community Correction
The division is responsible for adult parole and probation supervision and the operation of six facilities that are licensed residential treatment centers. ACC is working to make Arkansas safer by changing offender behavior through evidence-based approaches, programs, and services.
California
Team of Advisors provides comprehensive, short and long-term one-on-one pre-parole assistance to hundreds of people in incarceration every month. We research and share up-to-date information for housing, employment, education, community and government services, provide assistance with parole hearing preparation including resume writing, and provide outside referrals to a wide range of resources to facilitate a successful reentry back into our communities.
CDCR Female Community Reentry Services
Through extensive community partnerships, innovative community supervision and a commitment to rehabilitation, CDCR is helping offenders succeed as they return to their communities. Comprehensive pre- and post-release rehabilitative programs and services are offered in communities throughout California delivered through alternative custody, residential, outpatient and drop-in centers.
CDCR Male Community Reentry Program
MCRP is designed to provide a range of Community-Based, rehabilitative services that assist with substance use disorder, mental health care, medical care, employment, education, housing, family reunification, and social support. MCRP assists participants to successfully reenter the community from prison and contributes to reduced recidivism by using Community-Based rehabilitative services.
Colorado
Colorado DOC Community Re-Entry Specialists
Community Re-Entry Specialists (CRES) provide integrated case management and support services throughout the state to assist with removing barriers that interfere with an offender’s successful transition from prison to the community. Re-entry services may include, but are not limited to, stabilization assistance or resources for housing, transportation, clothing, personal hygiene, backpacks, work tools, employment training, and job placement. The services are based on individual need and are incentive-based, requiring the offender’s participation and accountability.

Delaware
Re-Entry Delaware: Supporting the Transition
Re-Entry Delaware wants to ensure that all veterans and former inmates have honest and equal opportunities to make the transition.
At the DCJ, we listen, we amplify, and we act to seek justice for all Delawareans through advocacy and services. We provide state-of-the-art, evidence-based programming to our clients, seeking justice for each individual as we seek justice for all.
Florida
Florida DOC Office of Programs and Re-Entry
The Office of Programs and Re-Entry is committed to leadership in rehabilitative programs that support the improvement and readiness of lives in our custody. By employing evidence-driven strategies, the Office of Programs and Re-Entry increases security and public safety by providing programming for productive learning, positively transforming behaviors, and teaching pro-social skills that assists with re-integration into communities.
Georgia
Georgia Department of Community Supervision Reentry Services
Services are delivered through state and local collaboration from the time of their entry to prison through their successful transition, reintegration, and aftercare in the community. Our vision is that every person released from prison will have the tools and support needed to succeed in the community.
Hawaii
Our Community Re-Entry Homes make it possible for people exiting the criminal justice system to make a “soft landing” back into society. While living in the homes, residents can secure important documents (such as state IDs and birth certificates), apply for jobs, open bank accounts, and find a network of like-minded people looking to make a new start.
Going Home Hawaii believes we decrease the risk of new crimes and new victims by providing supportive services to meet the individualized needs of justice-involved persons experiencing barriers to successful reintegration. We accomplish this using a holistic approach of cultural inclusion and collaboration among community partners.
Hawaii Correctional Industries
Provide all willing and able-bodied inmates vocational rehabilitation opportunities that gives them practical and real-world skills they can use to attain gainful employment.
Idaho
Throughout the State, there are Recovery Centers' of Idaho available to help with need of people returning to the local community. They offer many services such as job search, employment, treatment, healthcare, and other services.
Illinois
This website is an online, searchable version of the guide created by Education Justice Project (EJP). It was built by volunteers for the Illinois Reentry Guide Initiative (IRGI) and Chi Hack Night, with input from formerly-incarcerated people. As you use this site, please know that EJP and IRGI do not endorse the resources listed here, nor do we have the capacity to ensure all the information is accurate and current. We understand some services may not be helpful to all, but we hope you will find those that suit your needs.
Restore Justice advocates for fairness, humanity, and compassion throughout the Illinois criminal justice system, with a primary focus on those affected by extreme sentences imposed on our youth. We create and support policies that allow those who are rehabilitated to go home, and that ensure those incarcerated, their families, and victim families have opportunities for healing and justice. We engage currently and formerly incarcerated individuals and their families, victims and their families, communities, and concerned Illinoisans in advocacy and service within the criminal justice system.
IDES Re-Entry Employment Service Program
The Re-Entry Employment Service Program (RESP) serves Illinoisans who are currently, or have in the past been, subject to any stage of the criminal justice process and who require assistance in overcoming barriers to employment resulting from a record of arrest or conviction.
